AUSTIN, Texas — Bethany College’s baseball team completed a four-game sweep of Huston-Tilloston University on Thursday by sweeping a doubleheader.
After losing their first two games to open the season, the Swedes have now run off five straight wins.
Bethany won the opener 1-0, pushing across the winner in the fourth inning on an RBI by Steven Velazquez-Perez. Christiannel Cosme notched the win, going 5 1/3 innings before Robert Johnson earned the save. Huston-Tilloston managed only four hits.
Bethany doubled up in the second game for a 6-3 win, scoring three runs in both the first and third innings.
Raymond Vazquez wielded the big stick for the Swedes with a double and single, good for three RBIs. Michaell Alexander also had two hits.
Axel Sosa was the winner, with Kyle Kruger picking up the save.
The Swedes make their home debut Saturday hosting Concordia University for a twinbill. The teams also play two on Sunday.
