Central men stunned by OW

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — It was a game that Central Christian College’s men couldn’t afford to lose.

Oklahoma Wesleyan, winless in the MCAC entering Friday, stunned the Tigers 77-76, dropping Central to 4-7 in the MCAC and in a three-way tie for fifth in the standings.

It was tight all the way, as Central led 34-32 at the half.

Alonzo Stafford was a wrecking ball for the Tigers with 33 points. No other CCC player hit for double figures.

Central, now 14-11 overall, plays Saturday at Haskell in Lawrence.

Oklahoma Wesleyan (77) — Cooks 9, Ross 15, Miller 15, Johnson 4, Chastain 16, Pavic 12, Stjepanovic 4, Fox 2.

• Oklahoma Wesleyan women 107, Central 57 — First-place Oklahoma Wesleyan received 84 points from its bench to put a hammering on the Lady Tigers, who are now 3-8 in the MCAC and 9-18 overall.

No Lady Tiger hit for double figures. The Wesleyan starters scored only 24 points.

Central plays Saturday at Haskell in Lawrence.
