MANHATTAN — McPherson College’s track and field teams competed Friday in the Last Chance Meet.
It’s the final chance for athletes to reach national qualifying standards.
It was a good day for the men with a couple of PRs and a school record.
Dixon Cooney broke his own 800 time with a finish of 1:57.98. Marvin Jackson, Miguel Luna-Sanchez and Art Hop each set individual or McPherson College PRs.
Laura Gibson keyed the day for the women with her school record in the 1,000 (3:14.77). Jasmine Helms went 36-0 for a PR in the triple jump.
Mac will be sending four performers to the 2015 NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships March 5-7 in Geneva, Ohio. Perry Joseph will be competing in the 60, Akim Muhammad will be in the 400, Jasmine Alexander will be running both the 60 and the 400 dashes and Arryana Barton will compete in the shot put.
