Great day for MAC wrestlers

HUTCHINSON — Nearly every member of the MAC Wrestling Club who competed in the Team Lightning Tournament at Hutchinson over the weekend placed in their respective weight classes.

MAC's Mason Thrash pulled off a rarity in that he placed in two divisions as coach Lance Engel said he "double dipped." He wrestled in both the U-12 and U-14 divisions, taking fourth in both.


1st — Elijah Clarke, 8-and-under, 88; Treyton Pelnar, 10-and-under, 55; Tucker Pelnar, 10-and-under, 61; Collin Pearson, 10-and-under, 76; Mason Thrash, 12-and-under, 140.

2nd — Jase Fitzmorris, 8-and-under, 67; Isaac Ramsey, 8-and-under, 70; Landon Frantz, 12-and-under, 120.

3rd — Jonah Clarke, 12-and-under, 130; Ben Hopkins, 14-and-under, 125.

4th — Keaton Crane, 6-and-under, 49; Paxton Ingals, 6-and-under, 64; Carter Allen, 8-and-under, 73; Ryder Norstom, 10-and-under, 85; Neill Raymond, 12-and-under, 84; Tyson Gottwald, 12-and-under, 100; Devin Frantz, 12-and-under, 115; Kourtney Craig, 12-and-under, 140; EJ Kretzer, 14-and-under, 110; Scott Radke, 14-and-under, 125; Mason Thrash, 14-and-under, 140.

5th — Mya Kretzer, 14-and-under, 110.

Also competing were Christian Mattox and Nathan Stecklein.

Saturday, the wrestlers will be hosting the McPherson Invitational at the Roundhouse. Starting time is 9 a.m.

The club will be hosting the War of the Roses Kansas Girls State Tournament at 10 a.m. Sunday at Central Christian College. Girls from all over the state and surrounding states will be competing.
