LINDSBORG — Bethany College’s Clayton Cozzitorto was selected KCAC Pitcher of the Week today.

In his lone outing last week against University of Minnesota-Crookston, he pitched the Swedes to a 5-2 victory. He threw a nine-inning complete game and only one run he allowed was earned. He gave up six hits, walked one and whiffed 10.

“Clayton has been a stalwart in the rotation for us my two years here," Bethany coach Andrew Bartman said. "He is definitely deserving of this honor and was outstanding in his past start."

In four games, Cozzitorto has recorded a 1.64 earned run average in 22 innings pitched. He has notched wins against University of Minnesota-Crookston and Concordia University, Seward, and picked up a save against Huston-Tillotson University. Cozzitorto is currently holding opponents to a .203 batting average and has only allowed four earned runs, 16 hits and six walks while striking out 22.
