Elyria cagers receive sub-state draws

Elyria Christian School’s girls will be the No. 1 seed in the Sylvan-Lucas Class 1A Division II sub-state next week.

The Eagles are 13-6 with one game left on Thursday. They receive a first-round bye and their first game will be March 5 against the winner of Central Christian (7-12) and Chase (3-16).

Sylvan-Lucas (11-9) has the other first-round bye. It plays the winner of Wilson (9-11) and Tescott (3-17) on March 5.

The Elyria boys (5-14 with a game left) play Wilson (5-14) at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Sylvan Grove. A win and they would play Central Christian (14-5) on Friday, March 6. Elyria and Central Christian play this Thursday to wrap up the regular season.

Chase (9-11) and Tescott (4-16) play on Tuesday, with the winner going up against Sylvan-Lucas (13-7) on Friday.
