HILLSBORO — Central Christian College’s baseball team needs to pick on somebody other than nationally ranked Tabor.

The Tigers are now 0-3 against the Bluejays this season and 3-13 overall after a 16-2 loss in a single, nine-inning game on Thursday. Tabor is now 14-1.

Tabor jumped all over Central with six runs in the first inning and five in the third. Central’s gloves turned to stone, committing 11 errors in its eight defensive innings.

Central had six hits, two by Reynaldo Echenique. He also had one of the two RBIs, the other by Laramie Lumley.

Three Tiger pitchers took the hill, with Zane Howard allowing only one earned run in his five innings of work.

Central is going to take advantage of the nice extended forecast to play four weekend games. It hosts Robert Morris for two today starting at 1 p.m. and then the teams play a single game at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The Tigers and McPherson College will then play at 4 p.m. to get some work in.
