The Moundridge girls have earned the No. 3 seed in the Class 2A State Tournament after stifling South Central 41-24 Saturday night in the sub-state finals at Inman.

The 21-2 Wildcats will play at 8:15 p.m. Thursday in the first round at Manhattan’s Bramlage Coliseum. Their opponent will be 19-4 Chase County.

A victory and the Wildcats would play the winner of 21-2 Valley Falls and 19-4 Hill City. That game would be at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Central Plains (22-1) is the No. 1 seed and plays Wabaunsee (15-8) in its first-round game, with the winner to play either Pittsburg Colgan (20-2) or Meade (19-3).
