1-4 weekend for Bulldog softball

WICHITA — The McPherson College softball team completed a 1-4 weekend in the Friends University Tournament on Sunday.

Not all game details were available. Here is a summary of what was reported:

• Langston University 15, Mac 1 — No information available.

• Mount Mercy 5, Mac 2 – No information available.

• Hastings College 9, Mac 6 — The Bulldogs used a six-run fourth inning to take a 6-4 lead, but couldn’t hang on.

Emily Davis wore out the Hastings pitching staff by going 4 for 4, with one of her hits a double. Mariah Wedel and Cassandra Moreno added two hits apiece. 

• Mac 6, Baker 5 – Kaylee Lozier picked up the win on the mound as she held the fort after Baker had rushed to a 5-2 lead. But the Bulldogs scored four runs in the sixth.

Davis continued her white-hot hitting, garnering another 4-for-4 game. Savannah Lewis was 3 for 4.

• Mid-America Christian 10, Mac 0 — The Evangels scored four in the first and six in the fifth as two innings did in the Bulldogs.

Davis and Moreno had the only Mac hits.

The Bulldogs and crosstown rival Central Christian College hook up for a 5 p.m. Wednesday doubleheader at Wall Park. Mac swept the Lady Tigers in a recent twinbill.
