Softball Bulldogs go 0-2 in own tourney

McPherson College’s softball team began play in its own tournament on Friday at Wall Park with a pair of losses.

Mac opened with an 18-6 setback to Benedictine. The Ravens sprinted to a 14-0 lead before the Bulldogs showed some grit by scoring three runs in a pair of innings.

McPherson High grad Emily Davis continued her scorching hitting by going 3 for 3 with two RBIs. Maty Gray drove in three runs.

Mallory Fowler took the loss.

Mac and Hastings were tied in Game 2 until the Broncos scored three runs in the fifth and three more in the sixth to key a 9-3 victory.

McPherson High product Mariah Wedel had two hits as did Cassandra Moreno. Kaylee Lozier took the loss.

Mac, now 3-15, plays three games today to wrap up tourney play.
