ST. LOUIS — McPherson High graduate Tim Prescott is an NCAA Division II national wrestling champion.

Prescott, a junior at St. Cloud State, captured the national title in the 125-pound class today by winning two more matches.

He is the first St. Cloud State wrestler to win a national title since 2013.

Prescott defeated Augustana’s T.J North, the No. 1 seed, 3-2 for the championship. He naturally earned All-American honors and also helped St. Cloud State win its first-ever national championship.

Prescott had outlasted Gerald Huff of Adams State 4-2 in the semifinals. He finished the weekend with a 4-0 record.

Prescott had wrestled two years at Neosho County in Chanute where he was a two-time national qualifier and two-time All-American.
