Tough weekend for Bulldog softball team

McPherson College’s softball team came away from its own tournament with three more losses on Saturday to finish 0-5 and its losing streak is now at eight.

A summary:

• Langston 12, Mac 3 — Mac scored all its runs in the third inning, but Langston scored early and often.

Savannah Lewis had two hits and two RBIs to account for the brunt of the Mac offense. Amanda Connell took the loss.

• AIB Business of Iowa 13, Mac 1 — AIB scored seven runs in the second and five in the fourth.

Emily Davis’ double was the only Mac extra-base hit as five players collected one apiece. Kylee Lozier took the loss.

• Avila 11, Mac 1  — Avila scored in every inning, including three innings of three runs, to breeze to the win.

Davis had two hits, one a double, and drove in the only run. Mallory Fowler was the Bulldog pitcher of record.

Mac, 3-18, is off until March 24 when it opens KCAC play at Kansas Wesleyan.
