Lady Tigers swept in softball twinbill

Central Christian College’s softball team completed a busy week by losing a pair of games here Saturday to Mid-America Christian. 

Mid-America won the opener 7-2 as it was just a 4-2 game until the final inning. Kristen Hall took the loss despite allowing only two earned runs. The Lady Tigers sprayed nine hits, including three by Sydney Nelson and two by Cristina Insua.

The Lady Tigers put up a good fight in Game 2, losing only 10-7. Down 9-0 after 2 1/2 innings, Central fought back with six unanswered runs to show some grit.

Nelson continued her blazing offensive ways with three hits and three RBIs as she had a tremendous week. Ashly Westgarth collected two hits. Insua took the loss.

Mid-America Christian is 13-4 while Central fell to 4-12. The Lady Tigers host Bethel College Tuesday.
