SHAWNEE, Okla. — Bethany College’s baseball team got to see what the No. 1 team in the country looks like.
The Swedes traveled Monday to take on Oklahoma Baptist, losing a 12-1 verdict to the Bison, who are now 23-0.
Bethany ace Clayton Cozzitorto started on the mound, throwing two innings and allowing two earned runs off five hits. The Swedes used seven pitchers in all.
Nicholas Ceccarelli led the Bethany offense with two hits.
"We got beat by a really good team that is deserving of a No. 1 ranking," Bethany coach Andrew Bartman said. "Our guys did compete late at the plate."
The Swedes are 9-14 overall and take a 1-3 KCAC record to Sterling on Thursday. The Warriors are ranked No. 19 in the country.
