Summer Lunch Program to change

Changes are being made to the Summer Lunch Program sponsored by United Way and the McPherson County Community Foundation! Plans are still in the preliminary stages, however, thanks to funding from the USDA, the Summer Lunch Program 2015 will feature nutritious lunches served at Roosevelt and Lincoln Elementary Schools.

FREE meals will be available Monday thru Thursday to children up to age 18; ALL families qualify. Adult meals will also be available, but that fee has not been finalized yet.

Weekend snack bags will be sent home with each child on Fridays. Those bags are not funded, so the McPherson County Community Foundation and United Way of McPherson County are still looking for assistance with that portion of the program.

Activities are planned prior to meals introducing children to fitness, music, art, reading, culture and much more!

Activity hour (tentative): 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Lunch hour (tentative): 11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Preregistration is not required, but is suggested to assist in planning how much food to prepare.

If you have any questions on the program, call the McPherson County Community Foundation at 245-9070.
