Baseball Tigers drop twin bill

Nationally ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan overwhelmed Central Christian College’s Tigers in a baseball doubleheader here Friday.

The 11th-ranked Eagles were a 14-1 winner in the first game, scoring four runs in the third inning and following up with five in the fourth. Zair Koelman hit a pair of homers for the Eagles and drove in seven runs.

Reynaldo Echenique had two hits and the lone RBI for CCC. Doug Gove took the loss.

It was more of the same in the nightcap as the Eagles roared to a 16-2 victory. An eight-run third inning tipped the game in favor of the visitors.

Central was held to six hits and committed seven errors and this one got away early. Jhon Peralta took the loss.

Six different Tigers had hits.

Central is now 5-25 on the year and hosts the Eagles again today, with the first pitch at noon.
