Braves take two from baseball Bulldogs

OTTAWA — Ottawa University pounded McPherson College’s baseball Bulldogs 20-4 in the first game Friday, then slipped past Mac 5-4 in the eight-inning nightcap.

Mac is now 5-19 on the year, 1-5 in the KCAC. It hosts the Braves today at 1 p.m.

Mac had 10 hits in the first game, including two by Reily Martin, Kyle McDonald and Dylan Fontenot. The Braves had a nine-run inning and a pair of five-run frames. Mac walked former McPherson High standout and preseason All-American Aaron Marshall in three of his four plate appearances.

Mac was far more competitive in Game 2, scoring three runs in the seventh inning to force extras.The Braves scored a run in the bottom of the eighth to win it. McDonald and Trevor Haycock had two hits for Mac. Marshall was 2 for 4 for OU.
