Nationally ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan completed a four-game sweep of Central Christian College’s baseball team on Saturday at Grant Complex.
The 11th-ranked Eagles rolled to a 9-0 blanking in the first game, keyed by a five-run first inning.
CCC managed only five hits, two of them by Lee Stoops. Alan Barker took the loss. If there was a bright spot, it was the relief work of Andrew Hightower, who allowed only an unearned run in his four innings.
Central was basically out of pitching by the second game and the Eagles took advantage for an 18-2 pummeling.
Christian Herbig and Chance Carney had a pair of hits apiece for the Tigers, who were down 9-1 after three innings.
The Tigers are now 0-8 in the MCAC — they have played the top two teams in the standings so far — and 5-27 overall. They finally get some rest as they are off until Friday when they travel to Waldorf College for a four-game series.
