OTTAWA — Even with a slow start to the baseball season — and the fact teams are pitching around him — McPherson High grad Aaron Marshall is still putting up some decent numbers at Ottawa University.

The preseason All-American homered twice this weekend against McPherson College. Through 26 games, he has a KCAC-leading eight homers along 20 RBIs and is hitting .282, well off his average of last year but on the rise as the weather is warming up.

Marshall has walked 21 times. In the first game against McPherson College on Friday, he walked three times.

Marshall also has three triples and two doubles as he is slugging at a .730 clip, which also leads the KCAC. His three triples are third in the conference.

Ottawa is 4-4 in the KCAC, 13-13 overall.
