Softball Bulldogs swept in KCAC opener

SALINA — McPherson College’s softball team picked a tough opponent to open the KCAC portion of the season with on Tuesday.

Expected powerhouse Kansas Wesleyan dealt Mac 12-3 and 17-0 losses as the Bulldogs are now 3-20 overall.

A seven-run KW fourth inning broke open what had been a competitive game in the opener. Amanda Darrow had two hits for the Bulldogs. Mallory Fowler took the loss.

The Bulldogs were held to one hit in the second game, a double by Emily Davis. Amanda Connell took the loss. The Coyotes, now 27-5 on the season, scored at least three runs in each of the first four innings.

The Bulldogs host Sterling on Saturday. First pitch is 1 p.m.
