Travis Godfrey has been named as the new Cheerleading and Dance coach at Central Christian College.

Godfrey graduated from Kansas Wesleyan, where he was a member of the Coyotes’ cheer and dance squads for two years. KW won the KCAC team championship in 2013 and won the Partner Stunt title.

Since leaving KW, Godfrey has worked with cheerleading at the club level. He has worked with a wide variety of age groups in a couple of different clubs as a cheer and tumbling coach. He is co-owner of Cheer Fire, a cheerleading gym in Salina.

Cheerleading and Dances is now an NAIA championship sport.

“We are excited to announce Travis as the Competitive Cheer Coach here at CCC,” Central Christian College Athletic Director Chad Broadus said. “We believe that he possesses the passion and ability to be successful at the collegiate level for a long time to come.”

“I'm so excited to be blessed with this opportunity,” Godfrey said. “I can not wait to build on the hard work the previous coaches have done and bring a truly competitive program to this great institution.”
