LINDSBORG — Bethany College’s baseball team scored 14 runs in the final two innings Tuesday to run away from Nebraska Wesleyan 17-4 in a single, nine-inning game.

The Swedes scored four runs in the seventh and a whopping 10 in the eighth to erase a 4-3 deficit.

The Swedes pounded out 16 hits, including three by Jake Ross and Kolton Mayali. Ross, Nicholas Ceccarelli and Steven Rodriguez all drove in three runs.

Michael Alexander was the winning pitcher, the third of five for the Swedes.

Bethany is now 13-15 overall. It plays Friday at McPherson College, then hosts the Bulldogs on Saturday as the teams hook up for a four-game series. The Swedes are 4-4 in KCAC play.
