NORTH NEWTON — Bethany College’s rugged non-conference schedule prepared it well for its KCAC softball opener on Tuesday.

The Swedes shredded the Bethel Threshers 10-1 and 16-1 to move to 15-13 overall.

Bethany scored all its first-game runs in three innings, with a four-run frame and two triples.

Jenna Carson, Jordan Blakesley and Maria Cerenio-Jordan all had two hits. Jasmine Zaker went yard. Camille McIver was the winning pitcher, scattering nine hits.

The Swedes strolled in the second game after scoring six runs in the first and continued to pile it on in the five-inning game. Carson’s three hits were tops and Zaker had two doubles. Jasmine Stewart was the winner.

Bethany hosts Tabor on Saturday.
