McPherson College’s baseball team and county rival Bethany College settled nothing here Friday, so they’ll try again today in Lindsborg.

The Bulldogs won the first game at Light Capital Diamond 6-5, before the Swedes charged back to earn the halve with a 13-7 triumph.

Mac was in control of the first game, leading 5-1, when the Swedes scored four times in the sixth to knot things up. The Bulldogs scored the winner in the bottom of the seventh on an errant throw.

Evan Willow pounded out three hits to lead Mac and Trevor Haycock drove in three. Haycock, Tom Potter and Kyle McDonald had two hits each. Brant Rhodes picked up the win.

Four Swedes had two hits — Jake Ross, Josiry Ciriano, Erik Pedersen and Steven Velazquez-Perez.

Bethany came out steaming in the second game, jumping on the Bulldogs for an 8-0 lead after two innings. Mac later had a pair of three-run innings, but the early outburst was too much to overcome.

McDonald had two hits and two RBIs to lead the Bulldogs. Reily Martin collected two hits and Dylan Fontenot drove in two runs.

Ross and Sammuel Ramirez homered for the Swedes, Ramirez’s being a grand slam. Dan Eck was the winner for Bethany.

Today’s first game in Lindsborg starts at 2 p.m.
