Lady Tigers edged twice in softball

CONWAY, Ark. — Central Christian College’s softball team lost its final two games of the MCAC Crossover Tournament on Saturday to finish the two-day event 1-3.

The Lady Tigers were edged 6-4 by York in the first game. Sydney Nelson continued her red-hot hitting by going 3 for 3, while Dana Dean and Kasi Kraus added two hits. Chandler Gerk drove in two runs.

The game was tied at 3 going into the seventh when York scored three times and the Lady Tigers responded with one.

Cristina Insua took the loss.

Central then lost to College of St. Mary, 8-4. The teams were tied at 4 until the fourth when the Flames put up three runs.

Kristen Hall had two hits for CCC. Kraus took the loss.

The Lady Tigers are now 3-5 in the MCAC, 6-18 overall. They are home today against Sterling College, then host Haskell on Tuesday.
