"The Bethany College Department of Athletics officially welcomes John Markey as the head women's soccer coach," Dean of Athletics Dane Pavlovich said. "Coach Markey impressed the search committee with his knowledge of the Swede soccer program as well as a structured plan for the continued development of our team. We are very excited to announce this appointment."

"I am very excited for the opportunity Bethany College has afforded me," Markey said. "I want to thank Dane Pavlovich for believing I am the right person for the job. We already have a great core group of talented players that I am very excited to work with. With some additional pieces in the mix, I fully expect the 2015 season to bring huge successes not only on the field, but in the classroom as well."
