Lady Tigers sweep Haskell

Central Christian College’s softball team evened its MCAC record at 5-5 here Tuesday with a sweep of Haskell.

The Lady Tigers erupted for six runs in the fourth inning to key an 11-3 victory in the first game. Haskell lent a helping hand with nine errors.

The white-hot Sydney Nelson collected two hits and drove in two runs to spark Central. Ashly Westgarth and Dana Dean also had two hits.

Kasi Kraus was the winner as she scattered eight hits. She did not have a walk and fanned five.

Central crushed Haskell in Game 2, 14-2. Nelson homered and finished 3 for 3 to ignite the CCC offense. Brooklynn Lemons and Mandy Jacques added two hits apiece. Kristen Hall  was the winning pitcher.

The Lady Tigers are off until April 10 when they play at Bellevue University in the second MCAC Crossover Tournament of the season.
