Softball Bulldogs snap losing streak

NORTH NEWTON — McPherson College’s softball team ended its losing streak at 14 on Wednesday when it won the second game of a doubleheader with Bethel.

The Bulldogs blasted the Threshers 8-2 behind the solid pitching of Kaylee Lozier and a 4-for-4 game with four RBIs by Amanda Darrow, which included a home run. Emily Davis added two hits, two runs and two RBIs.

The Threshers had won the first game, 9-3. Mariah Wedel had a huge game in defeat with two hits and all three runs scored, while Samantha Harrity had two hits and two RBIs. Amanda Connell took the loss.

The Bulldogs are now 1-5 in the KCAC and 4-23 overall. They are home on Saturday against Tabor.
