LINDSBORG — Hillsboro opens the 2015 softball season with every starter back except for one off a team that took second in the 3A State Tournament.
Predictably, the Trojans spoiled Smoky Valley’s season opener on Thursday by sweeping the Vikings, 7-1 and 11-0.
The highlight of the day for the Vikings was Katie Bellah’s home run in the first game, as Smoky Valley was held to two hits, the other by Hannah Lemen. The Vikes also had just two hits in the second game, singles by Lemen and Teagan Miller.
The Vikings go to Nickerson on Tuesday.
