Baseball Tigers swept by Bellevue

Central Christian College’s baseball team is glad to see nationally ranked Bellevue University leave town.

The Tigers ended their four-game series with the Bruins with two more losses as Bellevue is now 10-2 in the MCAC and 31-7 overall. Central slid to 2-14 in the MCAC, 7-33 overall.

The Bruins, ranked No. 14 in the country, routed Central 19-2 in the opener. The Tigers were held to three hits. Caleb Gorman and Reynaldo Echenique drove in the CCC runs.

Game 2 was more of the same, 19-0. Ian Eshelman had two of Central’s three hits, the other going to Stephen Boedeker.

The Tigers play a single game Tuesday at Sterling.
