Bulldog netters sweep Bethel

McPherson College’s men’s tennis team continued its domination of KCAC opponents on Monday with an 8-1 home rout of Bethel.

Mac is 2-0 in the KCAC, winning its two matches by a combined 17-1 score.

"The men used the doubles to help us get a good start in singles," Mac coach Justin Stuckey said. "We were really focused and worked hard in all of the matches."

The Bulldogs won all three doubles matches, then five of six singles matches.

• MAC WOMEN NARROWLY WIN — In the match that could very well have been for the KCAC title, the Bulldogs rallied for a 5-4 win. The teams went into the season regarded as the KCAC’s two best.

"I thought that we played very clutch today when it mattered," Stuckey said. "We had a lot of close matches to overcome, but I thought that we played well. The girls really had a lot of focus and determination today against a team in Bethel that put up a good fight."

Mac won just one of the three doubles matches, that by Chandler Short and Brittany Gouley. The Bulldogs then won four of six singles matches, capturing the Nos. 3 through 6.
