According to a report by Joanna Chadwick of The Wichita Eagle, Hesston High two-sport All-State standout Grant Raleigh is expected to have his final major surgery on Wednesday in Denver.
Raleigh was severely injured in a skiing accident on March 27.
According to Chadwick, Raleigh’s latest surgery is to repair his tailbone. One of his previous surgeries was to his back, which was broken in three spots.
“Lots of ups and downs with pain and emotions,” his father Greg Raleigh said in a text. “He is amazing at pushing through pain.”
Grant can stand on his left leg but not on his right yet, his father texted. He also suffered a shattered pelvis, had internal bleeding and several broken bones in an arm and shoulder.
According to the report, he is expected to spend two more weeks in Denver.
