Doubles play sparks MHS JV netters

DERBY — McPherson High’s JV tennis team finished a strong second on Tuesday in the Derby Invitational.

Conway Springs outlasted the Bullpups, 25-22. There were eight teams in all, with Derby  and Goddard Eisenhower tying for third with 16 apiece.

The Bullpups excelled in doubles. Hadley Hageman and Patrick Munsey went 4-0 for first place at No. 1, while Trey Hett and Price Kramer were 3-1 at No. 2, but also took first after a three-way tie.

Aaron Carlson (3-1) was third at No. 2 singles and Dalyn Chapman was 1-3 for seventh at No. 1 singles.
