For McPherson College’s baseball team, it was some much-needed relief.

After being battered in recent games, it was the Bulldogs who pounded out two victories on Tuesday against overmatched Manhattan Christian College.

The Bulldogs set the tone with a 15-2 blasting of the Crusaders in the first game. Mac doubled its way to the win, hitting five in the game.

Evan Willow was 3 for 4 to lead the Bulldogs. Jimmy Fisher drove in four runs and Matt Bryan added three RBIs. John Feaster scored three runs.

Jesse Correll worked the first four innings and Treyton DeVore toiled the final three.

The Bulldogs crushed the Crusaders 11-0 in the second game behind a combined four-hitter by Keegan Hays and Corey Taylor.

Bryan homered for Mac and also doubled. Bryce Strecker ripped a triple and double. Sam Keeny drove in three runs, while Bryan and Kyle McDonald added two RBIs.

Mac is now 9-30 on the season. Nationally ranked Sterling comes to town on Friday for a doubleheader.
