BC golfers Acevedo, Loughlin on fire

MIDWEST CITY, Okla. — Bethany College teammates Jose Acevedo and Josef Laughlin tied for third place in the two-day Oklahoma Baptist Invitational Golf Tournament that was completed on Tuesday.

Acevedo shot matching 70s for a 140 total, while Loughlin’s 140 came after rounds of 69-71.

Other scores for the Swedes were Ben Johnson (74-71-145), Josh Meeks (75-71-146) and Olly Rubenstein (74-77-151).

The Swedes shot 571 as a team as they were in a three-team race with champion Oklahoma City University (569) and Dodge City Community College (570).

Bethany had a second entry that took 15th with a 613. Scores were Juan Sin (75-74-149), Scott Farrall (79-76-155), Greg Miller (80-75-155), Matt O’Neill (80-76-156) and Nathan Limbacher (78-79-157).

Tourney medalist was Carlos Adrila of Southwestern Christian University, who shot rounds of 69-68-137.
