Swedes sweep Bulldogs in softball

McPherson College’s softball team put up a good battle against county rival Bethany College in Tuesday’s first game of two, 6-3.

Bethany accounted for 13 hits, with three apiece by Jenna Carson and Kristen Crawford. Mac was led by Emily Davis and Whitney Miller with two apiece. Camille McIver was the winner for Bethany.

Jasmine Stewart pitched a three-hit shutout for Bethany in Game 2 to key an 8-0 victory. Davis, Mariah Wedel and Amanda Darrow all had singles for Mac. Carson had three more hits to complete her big day for the Swedes.

Mac is now 1-9 in the KCAC, 4-27 overall. Bethany improved to 6-4 and 19-17.
