STERLING — Central Christian College’s softball team put up a good fight in both of its games with Sterling College on Wednesday, but all it had to show for it was two losses.
Sterling won the opener, 5-1. The Lady Tigers mustered only two hits, one an RBI single by Kristen Hall that scored Cheyenne Reynolds. Kasi Kraus took the loss despite allowing only three earned runs.
Central appeared to be on its way to a split, leading the second game 4-1 going into the bottom of the sixth. Sterling, though, scored four runs to overtake the Lady Tigers for a 5-4 victory.
Hall continued her hot hitting by going 3 for 4. She also took the loss after pitching five solid innings before encountering trouble.
Central is now 8-22 on the year. It travels this weekend for an MCAC Crossover Tournament hosted by Bellevue.
