Elyria Christian School basketball standout Addison Fields has signed a basketball letter of intent with Oklahoma Wesleyan University, which will be joining the KCAC next season.
Oklahoma Wesleyan was 27-7 this past season and qualified for the NAIA National Tournament, where it won its first-round game before losing in the second round.
“We are so excited to welcome Addison to the Lady Eagle basketball family,” OWU coach Jason Jeschke said. “She is an outstanding athlete, great student and a young woman that is passionate about her relationship with Christ. She is a great fit with our team, campus, and community and we could not be more excited to welcome her to Oklahoma Wesleyan.”
Fields was a four-year standout in both basketball and volleyball for Elyria Christian. She earned honorable mention Wheat State League honors her senior year in basketball.
Fields is an outstanding outside shooter as she broke the ECS record for career 3-pointers.
“I am thrilled that Addison has signed with Oklahoma Wesleyan University,” her father and coach Greg Fields said. “I have watched her grow and develop over the years from seeing the court and making great passes, to becoming one of the best outside shooters to ever go through our school. Coach Jeschke has a very successful program that utilizes a lot of 3s and he really looks for student athletes of character. As a coach and a father, I couldn't be more excited about the opportunity Addison has to grow as a player and as a spiritual leader.”
Fields is a leader outside of athletics as she was voted as the 2015 May Fete queen.
She will be studying nursing at Oklahoma Wesleyan.
