LINDSBORG — The Kingman Eagles had their baseball bats booming on Thursday.
The Eagles hit just about everything the Smoky Valley pitchers threw, scoring 49 runs in sweeping a doubleheader.
Kingman won the opener 25-11 despite the fact the Vikings unfurled a nine-run fifth inning. It was actually close until Kingman scored 11 runs in the top of the seventh.
Tim Ruble was 2 for 2 with two RBIs to lead Smoky Valley.
Kingman’s 13-run second inning sparked a 24-4 rout in the second game. The Vikings actually led 4-2 after one, but didn’t score again.
Kirk Barnes was 2 for 2 with a triple and double to lead the Smoky Valley offense.
The Vikings are now 2-4 on the season.
