Busy day for MMS netters

SALINA — McPherson Middle School’s boys tennis team was involved in a pair of meets on Thursday.

In a varsity meet that included five schools, the Bullpups were especially strong in doubles as the No. 1 team of Jackson Schrader and Hayes Schmid took second place, as did the No. 2 team of Cooper Courtney and Drew Schrader. Rhett Edmonson was third at No. 1 singles and Javan Childress was fifth at No. 2.

The JV meet included eight teams. In singles, Taylor Miller was fifth at No. 2 and Spencer Whitfield was seventh at No. 1.

In doubles, Gavin Dobson and Clayton Everhart finished third at No. 2, the No. 3 team of Jackson Fox and Kade Goss placed fifth, and the No. 1 team of Jake Houghton and Trenton Stecklein was sixth.
