SALINA — Bethany College’s men’s tennis team continues to cruise on its way toward Saturday’s major showdown with McPherson College.

The Swedes swamped Kansas Wesleyan 9-0 on Monday to move to 5-0 in the KCAC. They still have a good Bethel team to dispatch with on Thursday before Saturday’s huge home match with the Bulldogs that is expected to decide the KCAC title.

The Swedes were 3-0 in doubles with wins by Juan Mateus-Bruno Campos, Manuel Raga-Michiel Van Den Bogaert and Dujoh Ollivierre-Thomas Mayberry.

All six of those players won singles matches as well, except that Josh Meier played for Raga.

Bethany lost the women’s match, 8-1. Kayla Frank was the Swedes’ lone winner at No. 5 singles. The Swedes are 1-4 in the KCAC.
