WICHITA — Hesston High’s golf team went up against top-notch competition on Monday, taking 10th out of 12 teams in the Andover Invitational at Terradyne Country Club.
The Swathers shot a 367.
Leading the way was Jack Barnhart with an 83, one shot better than Trey Denno. Other Swather scores were Cole Seltzer (92), Jordan Suhler (108), Tanner Bachman (109) and Andrew Frazier (112).
Wichita Collegiate won the team title with 298, with McPherson Invitational champion Maize taking second with 303.
Maize’s Kale Reynolds, who shot an 85 on Thursday at McPherson’s Turkey Creek Golf Course, rebounded with a 69 to earn medalist honors. He will play for the Kansas Jayhawks next season. Camron Chugg of Wichita Collegiate was second with a 71.
It took a 78 to make the Top 10.
