LINDSBORG — Smoky Valley leveled its softball record at 4-4 on Tuesday with a pair of Central Kansas League wins over Sterling.
The Vikings scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to win the first game, 6-4. Keni Campbell led off the inning being hit by a pitch and wound up scoring on a Jacque Hulse single to tie the game at 4. Hulse and Haeli Maas later scored on wild pitches to complete the uprising.
Campbell was the winning pitcher, with all four runs allowed coming in the third inning. The Vikings won despite collecting just three hits.
The second game was a rout, as the Vikings scored nine runs in the second and five in the fourth to spark a 14-4 triumph.
Halle McClure was the winner, with final-inning help from Campbell.
Offensive leaders were Teagan Miller (hit by pitch four times, two runs), Katie Bellah (three-run homer, four RBIs, two runs), Campbell (3 for 3, triple, double, three runs, two RBIs), Hannah Lemen (two runs) and Ally Karber (two runs).
The Vikings host Hesston on Friday.
