WINFIELD — McPherson College’s softball team went on the road to lose a pair of games to Southwestern on Wednesday, falling to 1-11 in the KCAC and 4-31 overall.

The Builders were a 9-5 winner in Game 1, sparked by a three-run third inning and four runs in the fifth. The Bulldogs certainly hit the ball well enough to win as they collected 10, including two by Cassandra Moreno and McKenna Deckard. Emily Davis drove in two runs.

Amanda Connell took the loss.

One bad inning cost the Bulldogs a split as the Builders parlayed a six-run second inning into a 7-3 victory in Game 2.

The Bulldogs again hit the ball well, with Simone Donaldson going 3 for 3 with two RBIs to lead the way. Connell took the loss.

The Bulldogs play Saturday at Saint Mary.
