MHS baseball team debuts at No. 9

McPherson High’s baseball team has broken into the Class 4A Division I rankings this week.

The Bullpups were tabbed No. 9 in the most recent poll. They are 8-4 on the year, with two of the losses to No. 8 Augusta and another loss to No. 4 Buhler.

MHS plays Monday at Andale, which has a co-op team with Garden Plain. The Indians are right behind the Bullpups in the 4A D-I poll at No. 10.

4. Buhler 

5. Bishop Miege 

6. Ottawa 

7. Fort Scott 

8. Augusta 

9. McPherson 

10. Andale-Garden Plain 

Meanwhile Little River is ranked No. 2 in Class 2-1A, trailing only perennial power and defending state champion Pittsburg Colgan. The Redskins took second in the state to the Panthers last year.
