LINDSBORG — Cierra Wong of San Antonio, Texas, is transferring to play basketball and softball at Bethany College.

She has been attending Cottey College in Nevada, Mo.

She averaged 3.5 points and 3.5 rebounds her sophomore season at Cottey. She is an excellent shooter, including 82.5 percent at the foul line.

"Ciera is going to be a great addition to Bethany College," Swede coach Brett Morehouse said. "Based on her work ethic alone, she is going to be a valuable contributor to both our basketball and softball programs. As a basketball player, Ciera does a lot of little things that don't necessarily show up on the stat sheet. She plays solid defense, can handle the ball against pressure and understands how to be an extension of the coach on the court. I love her personality and her ‘team first’ attitude and I look forward to working with her over the next two years."

"We are excited to have Ciera join both the basketball and softball families,” Bethany softball coach Janice Esses said. "She is a great individual and a hard worker. She will contribute to both programs with her intensity, positive attitude and work ethic. We look forward to working with her and watching her develop within both programs."

Wong is the daughter of Yvonne Ruiz and Richard Wong. She plans to major in Pre-Physical Therapy.
