ELYRIA — Elyria Christian School’s Anna Adamyk will be on the opposite side next season of her current Eagle teammate Addison Fields.
Adamyk has signed a basketball letter of intent with Sterling College, which will go up against Fields’ new team next year, Oklahoma Wesleyan, which is joining the KCAC.
Adamyk has been a two-time Wheat State League first-team selection. She holds the school scoring record.
“We are very excited to make Anna a part of our Lady Warrior basketball family,” Sterling coach K.C. Bassett said. “She comes from a great high school program and is a very versatile player. Anna’s quickness, speed, basketball and leadership skills will all be valuable assets to our team next year. Anna is an outstanding person and we are looking forward to seeing what the future holds.”
Elyria Christian School coach Greg Fields is excited about Adamyk’s future.
”I am so happy for Anna that she has decided to sign with Sterling College to play basketball,” Fields said. “Anna is a game-changer on both ends of the court. Her speed and length can cause real problems for opponents, and she has the ability to get to the basket very quickly. Anna is a tremendous scorer and she does not take any time off on the defensive side.”
Fields has watched her grow tremendously in her time at Elyria.
“I am the most proud of the way she has developed her mental toughness over the last couple of years,” Fields said. “She refuses to let difficult situations change her attitude, and that has caused her to become a solid leader on and off the court. I know that she will have great success at Sterling College.”
Adamyk will major in criminal justice.
