Tenth-ranked Tabor College, the KCAC baseball leader, took a pair of games from last-place McPherson College here Monday.
The first game was decided early when the Bluejays scored seven runs in the first two innings to spark a 9-3 triumph. Collecting two hits each for Mac were Matt Bryan, Evan Willow and Reily Martin.
Brandt Rhodes allowed only two runs in five innings of relief for a Bulldog highlight.
Tabor completed the sweep with a 7-1 victory and it was the Bluejays’ 40th win against just eight losses. It was close until the sixth when the Bluejays scored four runs to break open a close game.
Four players had one hit each for Mac. Nathan Crowe took the loss.
The Bulldogs, now 8-38 overall and 2-20 in the KCAC, play Tabor again today in Hillsboro and then wrap up regular-season play this weekend with a four-game set with Kansas Wesleyan. Friday’s games are in Salina and Saturday’s games are at Light Capital Diamond.
