BROOKVILLE — After a spiritless 13-3 baseball loss in the first game on Tuesday to Ell-Saline, Moundridge pushed the Cardinals in the second game, only to lose 9-7.
MHS is now 2-6 on the year.
Wildcat coach Lynn Eichelberger said it never seemed like his team got off the bus in Game 1 as it committed six errors and managed only three hits, singles by Caleb Frye, Bryant Olson and Noah Eichelberger. Kyle Stucky took the loss.
The Wildcats trailed 8-2 early in Game 2, but scored three runs in the sixth and two in the seventh to make it exciting at the end.
Nick Leddy, Trenton Olson and Dylan Sugars all collected two hits for MHS, with Olson’s double the only extra-base knock.
Sugars took the loss.
