Nationally ranked Sterling College dealt Central Christian College’s baseball team a pair of losses here Tuesday on the Tigers’ Senior Day.

The No. 20 Warriors scored five runs in the ninth inning to take Game 1, 8-3. The loss spoiled an amazing game by CCC’s Raymond Echenique, who was 5 for 5 at the plate. Lee Stoops added a pair of hits.

Jhon Peralta pitched terrific baseball for eight innings before tiring in the ninth. Doug Gove got the final two outs.

The narrow loss seemed to devastate Central, as it was blitzed 20-1 in Game 2. Echenique and Austin Penn had the only Tiger hits. Austin Stubblefield had five hits and seven RBIs for Sterling in a magnificent effort.

Central is now 9-41 and completes its season with a four-game weekend series at York, Neb.
